THE COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS (FORMERLY KNOWN AS PSEOP) PARENT/STUDENT INFORMATION NIGHT IS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31, 2018 AT 6:00 P.M. AT THE HIGH SCHOOL (LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED).
COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS allows students to take college courses while they are still in middle or high school. The expenses for the college courses are typically covered by the school district. There are benefits and risks associated with being in CCP, so it is important that parents and their students learn as much as possible about this before they decide on participation.
Every year we are required to hold a parent/student information meeting to provide details about how a student can get involved with CCP.
The CCP Parent/Student Information Night for the 2018-19 school year is Wednesday, January 31, 2018
Location: VCHS (location TBD)
Every college has different requirements for CCP admission and procedures, and if a parent/student is not present to get the info they need from the college reps, they are required to make contact with them on their own to insure that their student is meeting deadlines, etc.
VCLSD has a hard deadline for the "Intent to Participate" form. Students who are considering doing CCP during the following school year MUST turn in a completed Intent to Participate form to Mrs. Rippeth by APRIL 1, 2018. Failure to do so will disqualify them from CCP the following school year.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me or direct students to me. Above all, I want to stress to students the importance of their parents being present for the CCP Parent/Student Information Night on 1/31/18, and for turning in the Intent to Participate form to Guidance by 4/1/2018.
Turning in the Intent to Participate form does not obligate the student to take classes through CCP, nor does it guarantee that they will be accepted to the university. The Intent to Participate form does not mean that you have applied for admission to the university. That is a separate application with separate deadlines.
I HAVE POSTED THE PLACEMENT TESTING INFORMATION FOR OU-C ON THIS PAGE UNDER DOWNLOADS. PLEASE REFER TO THIS FOR INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO SET UP PLACEMENT TESTING AND REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSES AT OU-C THROUGH CCP.
