Career: U.S. Army

My Mission Possible:  In 2001 I was a senior at Vinton County High School. I was having a hard time figuring what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Then one day is government class a U.S. Army recruiter came into Mr. Allman’s classroom and started talking about the benefits of the U.S. Army. This information I got from them really made me excited. So I took the information home and discussed it with my parents and made a decision to join the U.S. Army. It has been 14 and half years since I’ve joined the U.S. Army. I love helping people and protecting people. In my career I have had the honor of being deployed three times. I have two tours in Iraq and a humanitarian tour in Monrovia, Liberia. My Job in the Army is Human Resource Sergeant. I am responsible for the health and welfare of six younger Soldiers. My teams is responsible for the Promotion, Personnel Actions, Awards, ID Cards, Accountability, Mail and Vehicle maintenance for our battalion. This by far the most rewarding decision I made in my life. If I hadn’t made that decision I might have been in a lot a bad places. But it is truly my honor to serve the people of the United States in the U.S. Army and fight and protect those freedoms that we have fought for since the beginning of the United States.
