Vinton County Students Participate in Ohio University's Art Extravaganza

South Elementary students will have art work for sale in the Ohio University’s 11th Annual Art Extravaganza. The Art Extravaganza will be held on Monday, March 5th from 6-7:30 pm in Athens at Ohio University’s McCracken Hall Atrium. You, your friends, and family members are encouraged to attend and support our South Elementary students. They will have about 30 pieces of artwork created by our students. This is an art auction so please come and bid on our student's artwork. Whatever the artwork sells for half will go to the student and the other half will go to our school toward purchasing art supplies and materials.

Example: Artwork sells for $30, the student (artist) will receive $15 and our schools art program will receive $15. Spread the word and hopefully we will see everyone there!

Vinton County Students and Staff Highlighted for Entrepreneurial Efforts

As part of National Entrepreneurship Week, Hocking College completed video interviews of Vinton County students and teachers to highlight entrepreneurial efforts of the Vinton County Local School District on the national stage.   The interviews consisted of questions about entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurial mindset, how young people can become entrepreneurs, and how they can transform our community. Students discussed projects they have completed, the types of business they would like to own one day, and what they think students could do to help our community of entrepreneurs.  To help raise awareness and support National Entrepreneurship week, tweet often using the following#NatlEshipWeek and @NatlEshipWeek and encourage others to do so the same.
