Congratulations to our Distinguished Young Woman Ryann Ramey

After winning the local Distinguished Young Women program, VCHS Senior, Ryann Ramey respresented Vinton County at the Distinguished Young Women of Ohio program in Mount Vernon. She placed as a finalist in the Scholastics category and was awarded with a $500 cash scholarship, in addition to the $1,850 she won at the local program, to the college of her choice. There are five categories that contribute to each of the seventeen ladies individual score. Scholastics are worth 25% of their overall score, Interview is worth 25%, Self-Expression is worth 20%, Talent is worth 15%, and Fitness is worth 15%. The young women met in Mount Vernon on Wednesday, February 21, and rehearsed the entire program at the Memorial Theater until the competition on Sunday, February 25. Ramey will return to Vinton County for the Class of 2019's local DYW program to provide support for the ladies involved, share her experiences, and announce the next Distinguished Young Woman of Vinton County.  Go to for additional information and pictures.
