VCHS Spanish Teacher Wins Third Place in State

Senora Smith wins third placeThe Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education at Ohio University sponsored the "Why I Teach!" video contest. The competition was open to all preK-12 educators in the public education system in the State of Ohio. Judges evaluated the videos on quality, content, overall message and creativity. Contestants were eligible to win $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, $500 for third place and $250 for fourth place. On Wednesday, May 10, 2018,  a Teacher Appreciation Gala was hosted by Ohio University, with keynote speaker Mayor Steve Patterson. Vinton County High School Spanish Teacher, Señora Smith was recognized as the third place winner for the State of Ohio, earning her a plaque and $500 to spend in her classroom.
