As part of the Viking Success Program, forty-three Vinton County students visited Ohio University's Athens campus to learn more about requirements for admission, college majors, campus life, and other aspects of life as a Bobcat. They enjoyed a campus tour and a panel discussion featuring recent VC grads who currently attend OU. The Viking Alums shared their own perspectives about the college experience, and addressed issues such as commuting versus living on campus, adjusting to college life and challenges, selection of majors and classes, time management, and the importance of making connections with professors and fellow students to build support systems. The students enjoyed lunch in Nelson Dining Hall before returning to VCHS. Transportation expenses for this trip were provided through a grant from General Mills.
