College Credit Plus Information Meeting: Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026 at 5:30 in the cafetorium at VCHS

Did you know that Vinton County students in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to earn FREE college credit through Ohio’s College Credit Plus Program?   Would you like to learn more?

The College Credit Plus (CCP) program is designed to help students get a head start on college.  Credits earned through CCP count both at the school and college level, essentially allowing students to accomplish two goals at the same time.

What: College Credit Plus Information Meeting

When/Where: Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 5:30 in the cafetorium at VCHS

Why: For information regarding the CCP program, it is highly suggested that all parents and students new to CCP come to the informational night.

WHO WILL BE THERE? Ms. Ward, College Credit Plus Coordinator, and college representatives,  who will provide details that families will need to help them understand the expectations of CCP students.

NEW VCHS POLICY- PLEASE NOTE.

This meeting alone will NOT serve as the required counseling ALL students (new and previously CCP eligible students) must have each year to be eligible beginning summer ‘26. IMPORTANT TO KNOW:  CCP eligibility is determined the year prior to participation.

ALL (newly participating and returning) CCP students must turn in a signed (by parent and student)  BLUE intent form by April 1st of 2026 to be eligible to participate in CCP beginning summer of 2026

Step-by-Step:

Step 1: Attend the information session if new to CCP

Step 2: Submit Intent to Participate by April 1, 2026 (ALL Students)

Step 3: *Schedule a counseling session with Ms. Ward. Receive guidance on graduation requirements, course selection and hours limits (ALL Students)

Step 4: Apply to the college and meet admission standards if new to CCP

Step 5: Schedule a college advising session and register for courses

*Counseling is required every year a student participates. Counseling opportunities for individualized sessions will be made throughout the Spring. No student should attempt to register for summer or fall courses without completing this counseling. You will be dropped from the course if you register without completing counseling.
